1° Vermentino competition: here are the winners

Results revealed, medals awarded to Monti. Colli di Luni also awarded, The official ceremony at Vinitaly


The first Vermentino National Wine Competition held last october , announces the winners. The competition, with wines from Lazio, Liguria, Puglia, Sardegna, Umbria and Tuscany, was organised by Associazione APS Promo Eventi (as authorized body of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies of the Italian Republic), together with Agenzia Regionale Laore and Consorzio di Tutela Vermentino di Gallura DOCG. 142 champions examined by a team of 15 experts of this sector, winemakers, national and international journalists and AIS, ASPI, EPULAE, FIS and ONAV representatives, divided into three wine tasting committees.
The Competition, for the first time at national level, was an important opportunity to promote Vermentino, a well known wine variety, which is becoming more and more popular and sought after by International markets. The award ceremony will take place at 52nd edition of Vinitaly, the most important worldwide wine event, in Verona from 15 to 18 April 2018.
