Allocated funds for extra-EU promotion. Regional labels are getting ready for the international market

Regional Government, following a proposal by Councilor for Agriculture Stefano Mai, has allocated 141 thousand Euros for the promotion of ligurian wines in extra-EU countries, according to the 2018/2019 viticultural campaign as part of the OCM Vino – Organizzazione comune del mercato del settore vitivinicolo – European funding programme. “The Ligurian wine-producing sector – explains Councilor Mai – is growing exponentially in quality and it is one of the leading compartments in the agri-food sector. The funds intended for the producers are to be used for promotional purposes of their products around the world and to grant their competitiveness on international markets”.
Out of the budgeted 141 thousand Euros, 98 thou. are meant for regional projects and 42 thou. are meant for multi-regional projects which shall include Liguria. Projects can be presented by industry subjects, individuals or associated (group holdings, cooperatives, temporary associations), and they cover the 50% of promotional campaigns investments (taking part to fairs, organizing specific initiatives, tastings, presentations, printed communication material, etc) on foreign markets available for each company. The remaining 50% is to be paid by the recepient company.
