October 30th was Liguria Wine Magazine’s first birthday. The candle blowing was metaphoric blowing, though, since the newsroom decided to raise the glasses full of – needless to say – ligurian wine instead. Finding the words to sum up this adventure – because that’s what it has been – in a few lines is challenging. An adventure shared with many partners, launched with a few obstacles, just as it happens to other ambitious projects. In the end we achieved the first goal and, more importantly, we did it enjoying the journey.
I am going to stop right there. Honestly, it is not my place to say if the newsroom and I did a good (or bad) job. In this short period of time, the over 20 thousand users who followed us, suggest that we actually must have done something good. The first thank you goes to all of them.
Secondly, a thank you goes to my publisher, Alfio Antognetti who believed in me even when I couldn’t believe it myself. Thanks to Chiara Gallo, an invaluable and resourceful contributor. Thanks to Elettra Bianchi Rinaldi for her illustrations. Thanks to all the staff composed of journalists, bloggers, sommeliers, wine enthusiasts, terroir experts. I will name a few, even though my appreciation goes to all the people who added value to the magazine contributing with an article or a picture even just once. Thanks to Matteo Sara, Paolo Tegoni, Stefano Pezzini, Giovanna Benetti, Gilberto Volpara, Gabriella Molli, Francesca Bonafortuna, Roberto Vegnuti, Marta Borsi, Claudia Fachinetti, Serena Sarbia, Marco Ferrari, Emanuela Cavallo, Davide Vivaldi, Nicoletta Rolla, Sabrina Grassagliata, Elisabetta Morescalchi, Andrea Bontempo, Francesco Zoppi, Alice Liguori, Iacopo Lena, Roberto Lauriana, Anna Albertosi, Bruno Violani, Unclebuk…A newsroom which represents all Liguria, from east to west.

Marco Rezzano and Annamaria Giannetto Pini
Last, but most definitely, not least, my thank you goes to Enoteca Regionale della Liguria, the magazine’s owner, which I’m sure is going to find a new boost of energy after the election of its new president. Marco Rezzano himself is going to close this brief but necessary tribute to the magazine. «Liguria Wine Magazine’s first year of activity represented a great satisfaction for me, the whole management and the Administrative Board of Enoteca, since it is a versatile and flexible journal, an extraordinary communication tool that has become a powerful reference point for the regional wine-growing industry thanks to its dry and essential style, highlighting also the producers’ personal elements, telling their stories but also the ones of restaurant owners and regional wine shops, in fact showcasing a territory. I am grateful to the publisher, in the person of Alfio Antognetti, CEO of RES Comunicazione, a communication agency active on the territory for over 20 years, and the editor Annamaria Giannetto Pini, who handled with sensitiveness and authority the coordinating process. I hope that this tool will continue to grow, serving as a spearhead for the ligurian wine world.»
